GoGirlGo! San Antonio Announces 2008 Grantees

GoGirlGo! San Antonio recently concluded another successful grant cycle for 2008 with its grant-making partner, the San Antonio Sports Foundation. Out of 16 community organizations that applied for more than $211,000 in grant money, nine were officially selected for the $100,000 grant award money. GoGirlGo! San Antonio Facilitates Successful Summer Leadership Conference

On June 18, GoGirlGo! San Antonio held its quarterly Leadership Conference at the Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas’ new facility. The Girl Scouts were gracious enough to host the group at its new state-of-the-art location on Coker Loop. There were approximately 40 program leaders, coaches, directors and community organization representatives in attendance for the conference.

Roger Soler's Sports - Siren's Triathlon Benefiting GoGirlGo! San Antonio

We would like to tell you about a very exciting opportunity. The Women's Sports Foundation's GoGirlGo! San Antonio program has been selected as the beneficiary of the Siren's Triathlon, an all-female triathlon organized by Roger Soler's Sports, taking place on Saturday, May 10, 2008. To date it is San Antonio's only all-women and girl triathlon, and GoGirlGo! San Antonio would like to an extend an invitation for all to participate in this fun-filled sprint triathlon. GoGirlGo! San Antonio Offering Internship Programs

GoGirlGo! San Antonio is currently looking for an intern to work over the summer months whose daily responsibilities would include the administrative duties of filing, typing and answering phones, plus the added experience of working in a dynamic and rewarding environment in areas such as: advocacy, athlete marketing, program management, communications, development, education, Internet and events. GoGirlGo! San Antonio and Mustang Cheerleaders make a difference together!

A 2007 grantee of the Women’s Sports Foundation‘s GoGirlGo! San Antonio program, the young Mustang Cheerleaders are on their way to changing the lives of 30 girls from Gilbert Elementary in the Harlandale Independent School District on the south side of San Antonio. Since implementing the program the coaches have seen significant positive changes and increased enthusiasm from the girls. Click here to read more.
