Kelly Scott/
Curling
In February 2007, Scott defended her Canadian title at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Canada by defeating Team Saskatchewan. She then led her team in beating three tough rivals — Sweden, Denmark and the United States — to win the Women's World Championship in March. Scott became the first female skip to win a gold medal at both a World Junior Championship (March 1995) and a Women's World Championship (March 2007). In May, the World Curling Federation's World Rankings saw Canada rated first in the world.
