Holly McPeak is one of just five women to have competed in all three Olympic Games in beach volleyball (1996, 2000 and 2004) and took home the United States' first Olympic beach volleyball bronze medal in Athens in 2004 alongside former teammate Elaine Youngs. That same year, McPeak captured her 72nd consecutive career win, giving her the new record as winningest player on the women's side; earned four titles on the Association of Volleyball Professionals (AVP) Tour; was honored with the AVP Outstanding Achievement Award; and was named the AVP Best Defensive Player in 1993, 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004. McPeak, along teammate Misty May, reached the finals in three events in the Federation Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) 2000 tour, claiming two championships and finishing in second place four times. That same year, the team qualified for the 2000 Olympic Games. McPeak won the FIVB Toronto tournament in 1999, with then-teammate Nancy Reno. McPeak was named the Women's Professional Volleyball Association (WPVA) most valuable player for three consecutive years (1995, 1996, and 1997). McPeak also qualified for the 1996 Olympic Games with partner Reno in addition to the seven international titles the pair won together. McPeak was voted the No. 1 female player by the AVP in 1994. She also was named the AVP Most Valuable Player in 1993. In 1991, McPeak was recognized as the WPVA Rookie of the Year. In college, she played on the 1990 national championship team at the University of California-Los Angeles (UCLA) where she was named to the All-Pac-10 First Team and NCAA all-tournament team and holds the single-season assist record with 2,192. McPeak currently volunteers and helps out at numerous charities and organizations, including the Red Cross, The Children's Hospital of Los Angeles and the Special Olympics.
